Book Review: Motherless by Brian Gail

I thoroughly enjoyed Brian Gail’s new book, Motherless. Motherless is the 2nd volume of a planned trilogy and the follow-up to last Spring’s Fatherless.

Though the books are fiction- the cultural devastation wrought by the lack of respect for human dignity expressed in the books is very real. Fatherless and Motherless show how we’ve arrived at the place we are today- families have been ripped apart by various lies regarding human sexuality, where a disordered belief in science has replaced faith in God, and the Church is seemingly confused about its own teaching and position as moral authority.  I expect that the 3rd volume, Childless, will present Gail’s idea of where our culture, nation, and Church may be headed.

Good characters, fast-paced plot, and surprising twists and turns.

One complaint, which I hesitate to mention only because I don’t want to discourage anyone from reading Motherless. But, in the off-chance someone from the publisher reads this review….  The editing in this book is atrocious.  The numerous typos are distracting and I hope more care is taken with Childless.
