Book Review: Streetwalking with Jesus

Streetwalking with Jesus is one of the most challenging books that I’ve read in quite a while- and I’m thankful to have read it- this is one very powerful and moving book.

On virtually every page Deacon John Green confronts you with the hard realities of the lives lived at the very fringe of US society- the pimps, prostitutes and addicts who many of us ignore and avoid.  Deacon Green shares their poignant stories and his own efforts in bringing Christ into their lives.

Many of the stories will break your heart, but they will also hopefully inspire many to live more compassionate, Christ-centered lives. Each chapter includes a “Digging Deeper” section that includes scripture for reflection as well as small-group oriented discussion questions.  I think the discussion questions would be helpful for anyone involved in a public ministry.
